HP Laser Printers: A Review of the HP LaserJet Pro P1102w Printer
There are a lot of HP laser printers available on the market, and many of them are very popular because of their name. HP is world-renowned because of the quality printers that the company develops, and many people trust the brand. One of the great models that they have to offer when it comes to laser printing is the HP LaserJet Pro P1102w Printer, and this review will cover everything you need to know about this model.
Design
Unlike most laser printers, this model has a very nice aesthetic design. It has a sleek black finish that covers its entire body and the input and output feeders are clearly apparent at a glance. The model has a weather-resistant color and it can remain in great aesthetic condition after several years because of the black color. It’s also very compact as compared with most laser printers that are usually large and bulky. This model has the dimensions of 13.74’’ x 9.38’’ x 7.71’’ and a weight of 11.6 pounds. What’s even better about this model is that it has a wireless-enabled system that allows you to access it from different computers, as long as they are within the same network.
Although it doesn’t have a display and it has minimal buttons, it’s very easy to use. But you cannot print on it without using a computer because it has no connectivity options apart from the wireless capability. So you have to access your files using your computer to be able to print them. If you want a printer that can perform rush printing jobs, this might not be the best model for you.
Printing and Other Functions
As with all HP laser printers, this model has excellent features. It is a monochrome laser printer only and you cannot produce colored output using it. If you need a printer that will make colored brochures for you, then this isn’t the model that you’re looking for. But it has very good printing capabilities. It can print to a speed of up to 19 pages per minute and the resolution of printouts can reach up to 600x600x2 dpi or 1200 output dpi. It does not feature automatic duplex printing but it does have a manual driver support provided for you to easily install the function manually.
The printer technologies used by this model are HP FastRes 600 and HP FastRes 1200. With a memory of 8 MB, you can keep several files pending for printing or you can print very long or complex documents without getting cut. Papers with letter, legal, executive, postcard, and envelope sizes are all compatible with this model. It has a duty cycle of 5000 maximum pages per month so you can print and average of 166 pages per day.
The priority paper feeder can carry only 10 sheets of paper while the input tray can carry up to 150 sheets. This makes it easier to print because you don’t have to refill the trays every now and then. The only issue about this printer is that it smokes when it prints, which is a very unusual occurrence, and there might be some malfunction in the device when that happens. But a correctly used and fully functional model is unlikely to produce such problem.
Other Features
The instant on and automatic on/off functions make it easier for you to print quickly, saving more time and energy as compared to other long-wait printers. It is also an Energy Star qualified device so you not only gain the benefits from using it, you also help preserve Mother Nature my conserving more energy.
Conclusion
It’s true that HP laser printers are great to use and very good in printing quality, but the HP LaserJet Pro P1102w Printer is a very nice model with good aesthetic value and fantastic wireless printing capabilities. I highly recommend this model for all those individuals who are looking for a monochrome laser printer which produces high-quality prints.
